Sir David Suchet takes us on a pilgrimage through England and Wales, visiting many of Britain’s great cathedrals which have been welcoming visitors like David for many, many centuries.
Along the way, we’ll be exploring some of the old and well-worn pilgrim routes and a few of the newer ones which have been created as more people today feel compelled to take to the road in search of spiritual solace and reassurance.
In this three-part series, we will visit 25 of Britain’s cathedrals and abbeys along with the ruins of some important sacred sites as well. We will explore many of the ancient traditions which took people of faith on often long and perilous journeys in search of miracles, healing or some tangible confirmation of their religious beliefs.
