Lebanon, a country at the crossroads between Christianity and Islam, a meeting point for millennia between different civilizations, with 18 religious denominations.
After the First World War the territory was summarily divided between France and the United Kingdom, without paying any attention to the different ethnic groups and religions that populated those lands. Catholics, Orthodox Christians, Shiite and Samnite Muslims and Jews, from that moment on, became part of a complicated national entity. In this national fragility, the French, the British, the Iranians, the Syrians, the Americans, the Israelis and the Lebanese themselves have all, at one time or another, contributed to the country's tragic history. In the chaos, the Lebanese themselves - made up of different sects, religions and ethnic groups - have written their own history in a series of political assassinations, massacres and betrayals. With a simple but detailed narration and the support of testimonies and archival images, we retrace the history of Lebanon to better understand the origins of this interminable civil war and the political and economic instability that the country has experienced for decades.
