China has an imaginary counterpart, the alternative universe of Novoland, with its own detailed history and fantastic geography (but reminiscent of real China), on which many novels have been based over the years, on the wave of "The Lord of the Rings". A television series has drawn on this rich material. The result is an epic saga, about princes in exile, part humand and part spirit, leaders of nomadic tribes, empresses fighting for the throne, all united in the destiny announced by an ancient prophecy.
