About 2.000 species of fireflies are found in all continents but the Antarctica, nearly 130 species of which are found in the area from the subtropical zone to the temperate region in China. What kind of secret life do they lead under the cover of darkness?
The documentary introduces the natural environment of fireflies: the tropical rain forest and the rubber forest in Xishuangbanna in Yunnan province, the sinkholes in Leye, Guangxi Autonomous Region, and Amphawa at the bank of Mae Kong River in Thailand. It tells how fireflies survive in complicated natural environment, how human activities affect fireflies, and why people should stay in harmony with nature.
