Warfare defines a weapon, as the battlefields change the requirements for victory in turn shift through factors of minutia to far reaching decisions. But as far as war crafts the weaponry, it is the weapons taken into the war that shapes the outcome. As the ages pass and new wars arise, weapons evolve with the times as do the tacticts brought forward by new approaches and beliefs. It is an ever changing landscape where people, warfare and weaponry mould together forming a basis of history. Beyond it all however, for the last 70 years one gun has remained a constant. The AK-47 has become a symbol of warefare being the most recognizable gun to be fired by armies and rebels the world over. Since its inception and design by Russian engineer Mikhail Kalashnikov, the AK-47 and its derivatives have been involved in every conflict. Even in 2022, the gun conceived and produced close to a century ago, still has influence with a recent and ongoing conflict in the Ukraine. More than any other weapon, the AK-47 has maintained not only its popularity, but its significance and effectiveness. Throughout history there have never been another gun to hold its place for such a long period of time.
Spread over two episodes, the series will begin from the inception of the AK-47 to the modern day usage of the weapon. The series will move in chronological order going through each war where the specific scenario will change.
