Every day in history has its own significance - but now and then, through the alignment of characters, circumstances, fate and luck, a day occurs in which the world is changed forever. The 20th Century was full of such days, perhaps nowhere more than in the years surrounding the catastrophe of the Second World War. This series takes us back to the roots of that immense disaster and drama of human folly, spite, and heroism.
