On 7 February 1992, in the Dutch city of Maastricht, the European foreign ministers signed a groundbreaking treaty that came into force in November 1993. To this day, it continues to be the basis of our coexistence and economic activity in Europe and in each individual European member state. Hardly any aspect of everyday life is not influenced by this treaty in some way. The 30th anniversary provides the occasion for a very special journey once across the continent - from Portugal in the west to the Ukrainian border in the east.
